“This is a great place for a night of relaxation,” said the Rev. William J. Taylor, a Baptist minister who lives on the island.
“We have a lot of outdoor dining and some outdoor activities that are fun.”
Taylor said he would stay up late, often listening to the gospel music on his portable radio.
“It’s a place where you can relax and go out and have fun,” he said.
The island also has a beach that is popular with local surfers.
“People are always talking about the beach here,” said Taylor.
“When I go out on the beach it’s just a fun place to go.
It’s like being in a beach club.”
The islands popularity is attributed to its nature, the size of the island and the abundance of water in the bay.
The U.S. Geological Survey estimated the area at around 5,000 acres.
“The bay is big and shallow,” said Andrew Wessel, the U.K. director of natural resources at the U
