Costco, Macy’s and Lowe’s are all getting in on the Donald Trump bandwagon, and the GOP presidential candidate has a new merchandise line he is selling to make up for his unpopularity.
Costco’s Donald Trump Jr. line of “personalized” shirts and caps, which were announced last week, features the Trump family crest on the front.
The shirts, which will be available from the beginning of January, are $35 and are available to purchase at participating retailers.
While the merchandise is not exactly a knock-off of Trump, he is clearly attempting to capitalize on the political environment that the campaign is currently in.
A recent Bloomberg Businessweek article said Trump’s “campaign to reinvent himself as the authentic American has only intensified.”
For a guy who was once a star athlete and who’s been a public figure for nearly 20 years, this is a huge opportunity for him,” Bloomberg quoted a senior adviser to Trump as saying.
